Today's the Day!:)

     It's officially out!!:)  Mckenna Shoots for the Stars is now available on DVD on American Girl and at Walmart.  Are any of you going to buy it this week?  If so, I would love to know!:)

Mckenna Shoots for the Stars Trailor Review

      Well, American Girl finally posted on their website the Mckenna Shoots for the Stars trailer.  I thought the trailer was really good.  It makes me anticipate the movie even more!

     I thought Jade Pettyjohn did really well in the trailer.  They showed so many of Mckenna's outfits in the trailer.  I wonder if they'll make a camping outfit for the Mckenna doll  like the one Jade had on.

      I wish they would have shown more of Ysa Penarjo as Toulane in the trailer.  She only said a couple of lines, and they were kind of mumbled under her breath.  I think she will be good in the movie, though.

     I really liked Nia Vardalos in the trailer.  She fit a great mother part and was funny in some of the trailer.

     You didn't get to see to much of Ian Zierring in the trailer, but I thought from what I saw, he and Nia Vardalos make a good Mr. and Mrs. Brooks.

     Kaedence and Paiten Roach, I just recently found play Maisey and Mara Brooks.  I wish I could have seen them more in the trailer.

     Kerris Dorsey is a great Josie.  She was sweet and kind.  Perfect Josie to a tee.

     I am so looking forward to seeing Callie Berard in the movie!  She doesn't look like Sierra.  In the book Sierra has red hair, not black. 
    
     Also, I just got Mckenna's first book, Mckenna.  So far, it's quite good.  Expect a book review soon!

     I just saw on Doll Diaries that they posted a new picture from the Mckenna movie.  It is of Mckenna(left) and Toulane(right).  I can't wait for this movie!!!

Mckenna's Movie Cover!!!

      On the American Girl Fan Message Board, a member posted this pic(above).  Aren't you excited?  I am!   The movie is officially titled Mckenna Shoots for the Stars.
     Starting on the left side of the picture, I am going to name all the people in order(just in case you don't know what character they play).  The first two are Ian Zierring and Nia Vardalos who play Mr. and Mrs. Brooks, Jade Pettyjohn as Mckenna, Ysa Penarjo as Toulane, and Kerris Dorsey as Josie.  For more information on the actors, go to one of my old POSTS.

     Also, here is a picture of Nia Vardalos and Jade Pettyjohn on the set of  the Mckenna movie.  I will have another post about the Mckenna movie soon with more recent updates.

AWESOME MCKENNA MOVIE NEWS!!!!!!!!

     I was just looking at Ysa Penarejo's facebook page(for those of you who don't know, she's in the Mckenna movie),  and she said:

"Last summer I was fortunate to be a part of the American Girl movie project and received news today that it will air on NBC - Walmart/P&G Saturday Night Movie on July 14 at 8pm! It will air before the commencement of the summer Olympics on the network which will carry the event. Yay!"

     Isn't that exciting?  I know I will definitely be watching!

Girl of the Year Book Cover!!!

     I found this picture from Morgan on American Girl Fan Message Board!  Isn't Mckenna pretty?  It is also pretty much official that her last name will be Brooks.  I also found, thanks Samantha4Nellie, on the AG Fan Message Board, the book summaries.

Book 1. Mckenna

     Ten-year-old Mckenna is ready to start fourth grade, but when she begins to fall behind in school, Mckenna's teacher suggests she should get help from a tutor and with encouragement from Josie, a confident girl in a wheel chair, Mckenna manages to regain confidence in her abilities.

Book 2. Mckenna Ready to Fly!
     After Mckenn suffers an injury that causes her to worry about her place on the Shooting Star competetive gymnastics team,  she tries to help her tutor, Josie, overcome her fear of horseback riding, but as Mckenna and Josie become closer friends, one of Mckenna's teammates gets jealous of their friendship.

     Are you excited about Mckenna yet? So I'm pretty sure that Teagan will be her teammate who gets jealous of Mckenna and Josie. So the main cast for the movie is so far:

Jade Pettyjohn(who is eleven) as Mckenna Brooks,

Ysa Penarjo(who is eleven) as Teagan,(it's not official, but I really think that's who she's playing)

Nia Vardalos and Ian Zierring as Mckenna's parents,

Kerris Dorsey(who is thirteen) as Josie,

Will Woytowich as Cowboy Bob,

and Kaedence and Paiten Roach and Cally Berard.  Don't know who they play yet. Maybe Paiten and Kaedence are playing Mckenna's twin sisters?  I really don't who Cally Berard is either.

Kally Berard Added to the American Girl Movie Cast

Kally Berard has been recently added to the cast for the new AG movie. In another picture(which I couldn't load) you can definately tell she's a gymanst. So, I think we can almost be definatley sure that the new American Girl movie is about a gymnast.

Another Pic From the Set of the AG Movie!

Here, again is another picture from the set of the new American Girl movie.  As you can see, there are tons of gymnasts to right in the picture.  Where did I find this??  I found it off of Nia Vardalos' Twitter.  None of the main cast is in this picture, because these are the extras.  So it looks as iff we might getting a gymnast AG movie.

Kerris Dorsey and William Woytowich Have Been Casted in the New AG Movie!

       Yep, thirteen year old actress, Kerris Dorsey, has joined the cast for the new American Girl movie.  She looks a little like Julie Albright's firend, Joy, who is deaf.

      Here, is a picture of Nia Vardalos holding the hands of twins, Kadence and Paiten Roach, with behind her it looks like Kerris Dorsey in a wheel chair. So what do you think?? Is Kerris Dorsey going to be the lead instead of Jade Pettyjohn??

      William Woytowich has been hired on to play a man named Cowboy Bob. Where does this put us?? First we thought the movie was about Julie, but then we found out Cathy Rigby was on set which ment it would be a gymnast movie. Now we have a girl in a wheel chair and a cowboy??? If you have any ideas please comment!:D

Also, Ian Ziering has been hired to play Nia Vardalos' husband. Could this be Julie's dad??

More Info On New AG Movie!

 I just found out on the American Girl Fan Message Board that Mary Casanova is the author for new Girl of the Year books. She was also the author of both Chrissa's, Jess', and Cecile's(Girls of Many Lands) books.
This information led to me to Doll Diaries where I found this picture(below).

 This is a picture of Cathy Rigby(Olympic Gymnast), Nia Vardalos( "Velma's" mother), and Mary Casanova on set of the new American Girl movie. I then went Nia Vardalos' TwitPic page and found this other picture(below).

You can see in the middle are Jade Pettyjohn and Nia Vardalos. So, what do you think? Are we getting Velma's movie or a Julie's movie? I will try to find any more information!:D

New American Girl Movie 2012

     I found on Doll Diaries, that American Girl is casting for a new AG movie about girl called "Velma" I know, I know, Velma? Seems way to Scooby-Dooish for me. The site about the movie gave a short description of "Velma".

AMERICAN GIRL Velma is a wonderfully spirited, strong-willed young gymnast woth Olympic asperations, whose whole world comes crashing down when she is unexpectedly sidelined by an injury.Unfocused, with her grades slipping; she meets a tutor "Jane" and learns a few choice life lessons about what really matters.

Very interesting, isn't it? Below is a list of extras they are looking for.

The cast

     Jade Pettyjohn(above) has been hired on to play "Velma" She's a SINGER and a dancer. Wait, what? Did I just capitalize singer? Don't you think it's odd that they hired a blond girl who can sing and dance for an American Girl movie set to come out in 2012? Do you see where I'm getting? Yes, I mean that I think the "Velma" movie is really Julie's Musical under a false name. Many movie companies will come up with a fake name and stuff until the movie is in production. I have to say, she just doesn't look like Julie. I can't find out how old she is, but she's only 4 ft. 5 in. I would think for Julie they would get somebody older and talller.

     If you get on http://www.imdb.com/ you will see that Ysa Penarejo(above top) has also been hired for the movie. She just happens to be Asian like Ivy and can dance.  Nia Vandalos(above bottom) is set to play Jade Pettyjohn's mother in the film. Doesn't she look like Julie's mother??

     I believe that our next American Girl movie is finally going to be Julie's musical. If you find any more information, please comment me!
