Never Grow Up Doll Guide Fairy Tale Blog Party!:)

So on Never Grow Up Doll Guide: A Mom's Guide to Doll's and More Beast'sbelle has this awesome fairy tale blog party!:)  She listed eleven questions, and here are my answers.

1.  What is your favorite fairy tale and why?  My favorite fairy tale would have to be The Chronicles of Narnia.  Why?  Because, C. S. Lewis created such an incredible world.  He painted wonderful stories with Jesus entwined into them all, which not many authors can do as well.  I fell in love with the Pevensies in the books and in the movies.  Each had a different personality and shone throughout every book they were in.

2.  List your 4 favorite fairy tale heroes or heroines and why you like them.

Definitely Peter Pevensie.  I love his devotion towards his siblings.  He always made sure they were all taken care of.  He always was willing to fight for Narnia and Aslan no matter what happened.
Ah, Belle.  The older I have become, I found myself liking Belle much more than most of the other Disney princesses.  Her selfless attitude and her love of reading are the two qualities of her I greatly admire.

Samwise Gamgee is the best, by far, character in The Lord of the Rings!:)  He was always going to be by Frodo's side till the end of their journey or until death.  Frodo lost hope in the chances of them to make it to Mordor, but Sam didn't.  He knew that Frodo could destroy the ring and encouraged him the whole way.  Sam gave up food, water, and would have given his life for Frodo, because he loved his friend and understood the importance of their journey.  He knew "That there's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for."

And who can forget Rapunzel??  I just adore her cutesy spirit!:)

3.  Who in your opinion is the most threatening fairy tale villain?
Hmmm, that's a hard one.  Mother Gothel is probably one.  She was a such an evil woman, there aren't enough words to describe her evilness.

   4. If applicable, share something about a favorite fairy tale book you had as a child. What made it so special?
When my dad came back from a Pastor's conferrence when I was quite little, he brought me a big, pink Disney princess book.  It had beautiful pictures of all the princesses.  I still have somewhere on my shelf.

5.    In your opinion, what makes a good fairy tale?
To me, many components make up a good fairy tale.  Mainly the prominent characters.  If they are dislike able, it will the whole story itself, in my opinion, will be dislike able.

6. Who is your favorite fairy tale illustrator?
I have never really been into illustration's in books, so I don't have one.:)

 7.  What is your favorite retelling of a classic fairy tale?

Although the 2010 Alice in Wonderland was a little dark,  I thought this was a pretty well made version of Lewis Carol's classic stories.  It was an older Alice, which I appreciated, and it wasn't as silly as other versions of the books.

Tangled is, of course, my favorite retelling of a classic fairy tale.  The whole plot, characters, and music were just superb.

8. Which fairy tale character is the most like you?  Well, my mom has told me I'm a lot like Disney's Belle, because I love to read just like Belle does.

9. If you could choose to be any fairy tale character, who would you be and why?
That's hard.:(  I would probably want to be Belle for her intelligence, Rapunzel for her spunky personality, and Susan Pevensie for her archery skills.:)

 10. If you could have one wish, what would it be?
a. that a fairy godmother would come along, give you a dazzling outfit and shoes, and whisk you away to a royal ball.

b. that you could fly
c. that you would discover an enchanted world outside of our own
d. that you would be able to go on a grand adventure

Definitely C.  I've always wanted to go to Narnia.:)

11. If you could find out anything about your favorite fairy tale character outside of the pages of his/her story, what would you want to know?

I would love to know what happened to the Lost Boys when they decided to live with Wendy, Michael, and John in Peter Pan.  I wonder what they grew up to be like.

And in Disney's Tangled, it would interesting to see if Rapunzel and Eugene became king and queen of her country.

BONUS QUESTION:
12. Share a picture of one of your dolls dressed as a fairy tale character. :)

When I was Alice two years ago for Halloween, my mom made my doll a matching costume.  This is Natalie in the picture at a beautiful place near where I live.

Hope you all enjoyed!:)

Review of the Rapunzel Ever After Doll

I can finally get all my Rapunzel pictures up.  Yay!!!!
So, to begin, this a beautiful doll worth every cent you pay for it.  She has a sweet little face with extremely large eyes(which I like).  My only complaint is that I feel her lipstick is too light of a pink.  I would have preferred her to have a darker lipstick.
Her tiara looks(as you can see) pretty close to the tiara in the movie.  I love all the different colors and designs.  It's the best Barbie-sized tiara I have ever owned.
Now, on to her dress.  May I just say that this dress is to die for!!!  I have already decided that this dress will be my wedding dress one day.:)
The gold trim around the sleeves and bodice is so elegant!  The whole dress is very feminine and classy.
Her arms and hands are both jointed which will come in handy when I take pictures.
Going down to the skirt, there enters a new color: pink.  May I add that this is my favorite color.:D  If you notice in the top left corner, you will see that she has the sun flowers from the movie on her dress.  If this picture were in a different angle, you would be able  to them all over her dress.
What makes her dress puffy is a whole layer of tool underneath her dress.  The skirt seems puffier in some of my pictures, because she also had tissue paper under skirt to make it look even more puffy.
Then there are her simple, cute shoes.
After I had Rapunzel out of her box for a couple ours, I just had to take her hair out.  I thought her hair was going to be much longer when I took it out of the braid, but I was surprisingly wrong; it was the same length.
Normally your hair is longer when it is out of a braid, but Rapunzel's hair was the same length.  Maybe if I flat ironed it, it would be longer(I'm not going to try it though).

All throughout her hair were these cute flower clips in purple, blue, and white.
Here are just a couple beauty shots of Rapunzel.
This was such a wonderful present for Easter!!!  I can't wait to take her out for more pictures!!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!!!  I hope everyone had a wonderful day.  I know I did!  Church was so much fun, because everyone was dressed nice and in such a good mood.
Doesn't today make you so thankful for Jesus.  We all deserve the horrible death He suffered.  But instead, Jesus paid that price for you.  He loved you so much that He came to earth and died for us and rose again.  I URGE you to believe in Him if you haven't!  It is all quite simple.
First, you must realize that you are a sinner and need Jesus to save you.  Secondly, believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the cross to pay for your sins and rose again.  Finally, say a small prayer to Jesus, saying you are a sinner and need Him , and that you believe He died for you and rose again.
That's it!  Isn't that incredible?  If you have any questions PLEASE comment!  Again Happy Easter!

"For God so loved the world, that He sent His only begotten Son(Jesus) that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but ever lasting life."  John 3:16
