Molly Loves Her Duct Tape Wallet!

If you all remember my duct tape wallet giveaway, Kassidy was one of the winners.  She chose the blue duct tape wallet for her prize.
Oneday when I went to get the mail, I found a surprising letter from Kassidy.  She sent me a thank-you note and a picture of her mini Molly doll with the duct tape wallet.

Here is my mom's doll holding the adorable picture Kassidy sent.

And here is a close up.  Isn't it cute?  I appreciate it so much for you sending it to me, Kassidy!  Thank you!:)

Fixing Up Molly Part 1

Well the last time we left Molly(you can read the first post about her HERE) she was in one piece, but now................
she's not.:(  Yep, my mom took her apart.  Her limbs were so loose and so much stuffing was sticking out of her head that my mom felt it was best to de-limb and head her.:)
Her face was very dirty, but now, after my mom cleaned it, she looks better.  However, she has not one bit of coloring.  My mom has also decided to put a little make up on her soon.
I apologize for the angle of this picture.  It just wouldn't turn the right way.  But, as you can see, my mom removed all the stains on her eye lids.
I just thought I should show you how much stuffing is in Molly's body.  My goodness I didn't know they could pack that much into the doll!

My mom is also going to re-do her joints.  I had never seen the inside of an AG.  It was very interesting.:)

As you can see, here is all my mom's equipment to re-do Molly's joints.

I hope you all have enjoyed part 1 of re-doing Molly.  Come back soon to see her all in one piece.:)

Meet Molly!

Well, my mom always checks on Craigslist for cheap American Girl dolls.  She loves to get old AG's and bring them back to their original beauty.  This week, she found a lady selling Molly.  She bought Molly as her birthday present.  Now I have a few images of her I can't wait to show you!
On her neck she has Pleasant Company written.  We talked to the lady and did a little research and discovered that she, most likely, is a 1980's or 1990's Molly.  She would be worth so much more if it weren't for her hair.:(
As you can see a bit of her bangs have been cut.:(  It's not that noticeable if you look at her from the front.
We didn't see this until we already bought her, but she has the beginnings of Silver Eye, if I'm not mistaken.  There might be a new head for this doll in the near future.:)
Her hair has been cut a good bit.:(  We also didn't see this until we had already bought her.:(  The hair is still manageable and will be fun to doctor up!:)
Molly's side has been slit and sewn on terribly.  Fortunately, my mom can sew quite well, so this will be fixed easily.
Her finger nails have been painted, and she has a pink stain on her wrist.  Those both will be fixable.
Molly's joints are barely hanging on!:)  My mom might want to remove all her joints and re-do  them.
Whoever owned this doll was able to paint finger nails and toe nails very well!!  But the polish will definately be removed.

This doll will be quite fun to work with!  I will post pictures of the process of restoring her .

Victory Rolls Tutorial

For my home school co-op, we had to come dressed from a certain decade.  So, I did my hair in Victory Rolls(pictured above) from the 1940's.  Molly, of course, is from 1944, and I thought it might be fun to do a tutorial on how to do Victory Rolls on your American Girl dolls hair.
Would you prefer I did the tutorial thru video or just pictures??  Please let me know!
