Review of the Chocolate Glasses for Dolls

When I went to the AG store in August I picked up a few things, which I will be doing a review for them all.  My first review is the chocolate glasses.
Don't you just love the cute little plastic case they come in?

I preferred these glasses over the othe ones at the store, because these seemed to be the most realistic.

They look adorable on Natalie.  It gives her that instantly smart appearance.:)

The blue lining on it was a rather nice touch too.  And they bend and stay in place so well.:)  I love them!:D

I also love the purple case it came with.  It was cute and pretty and doll sized.:)  My only problem was the purple case did not have a rubber band so your doll could hold on to it.

I give this four and a half stars!  It was just all together a great purchase.  I would recommend it to anyone who loves AG anything!:)

Back to School Outfit Idea Part 2

Here is the Back to School Outfit Idea Part 2!  Now you may be wondering why I have posted back-to-school outfit ideas for dolls, because there really is no importance.  But this might help if you are involved in a photo contest, enjoy creating photo stories, or just love taking pictures of your doll's!:)

For Natalie I went for a more sportsy-cutesy look than Marisol's outfit.

Her jacket and cami are from the AG Track Suit outfit which is retired.  You can still recreate this look by using any jacket and cute shirt underneath it.

For her hair, I just did a simple high ponytail and tied it with a purple elastic that matched her outfit.

The shoes are from an American Girl outfit, which name escapes me, but it is retired too.  Any sneaker or sporty shoe would totally work instead.
The backpack Natalie is using is from another doll company called My Twinn.

I hope you all enjoyed!  American Girl Store Part 3 will be up soon, plus AG store purchase reviews, a giveaway, and another Goodwill find.  Lot's to come!

Back To School Outfit Ideas for Your Doll Part 1

Hey, everyone!  How do you like the new header and background?  I have been so tired of the same design, that I just had to change it.

Of course, dolls should have awesome outfits for the fall, right??  I have put together two outfits for my dolls to show you.
The first one is on Marisol.  It's more of a cutesy, girly look.  I myself would never be brave enough to wear this, but, hey, on a doll it works!
For her hair I did a simple crown braid(which I will have a tutorial for soon) and tied it with a red hair tie.
Her shirt is from Julie's Dog Walking Outfit.  For this style I think any color shirt would work if your doll has tights as colorful as Marisol.  You don't want the top and botton to be loud.:)
Marisol is wearing the store exclusive Vacation shorts, Lindsey's(GOTY 2001) tights, and Marisol's shoes.  It's a little loud, but if your doll still loves shorts in the fall this might be a cute idea to try.

And her backpack is from the School Backpack Set for Dolls from American Girl.

I hope you have enjoyed this outfit idea!  I will have at least one more.  I have so many great posts lined up!  It's hard to know which to do first!:)

Never Grow Up Doll Guide Fairy Tale Blog Party!:)

So on Never Grow Up Doll Guide: A Mom's Guide to Doll's and More Beast'sbelle has this awesome fairy tale blog party!:)  She listed eleven questions, and here are my answers.

1.  What is your favorite fairy tale and why?  My favorite fairy tale would have to be The Chronicles of Narnia.  Why?  Because, C. S. Lewis created such an incredible world.  He painted wonderful stories with Jesus entwined into them all, which not many authors can do as well.  I fell in love with the Pevensies in the books and in the movies.  Each had a different personality and shone throughout every book they were in.

2.  List your 4 favorite fairy tale heroes or heroines and why you like them.

Definitely Peter Pevensie.  I love his devotion towards his siblings.  He always made sure they were all taken care of.  He always was willing to fight for Narnia and Aslan no matter what happened.
Ah, Belle.  The older I have become, I found myself liking Belle much more than most of the other Disney princesses.  Her selfless attitude and her love of reading are the two qualities of her I greatly admire.

Samwise Gamgee is the best, by far, character in The Lord of the Rings!:)  He was always going to be by Frodo's side till the end of their journey or until death.  Frodo lost hope in the chances of them to make it to Mordor, but Sam didn't.  He knew that Frodo could destroy the ring and encouraged him the whole way.  Sam gave up food, water, and would have given his life for Frodo, because he loved his friend and understood the importance of their journey.  He knew "That there's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for."

And who can forget Rapunzel??  I just adore her cutesy spirit!:)

3.  Who in your opinion is the most threatening fairy tale villain?
Hmmm, that's a hard one.  Mother Gothel is probably one.  She was a such an evil woman, there aren't enough words to describe her evilness.

   4. If applicable, share something about a favorite fairy tale book you had as a child. What made it so special?
When my dad came back from a Pastor's conferrence when I was quite little, he brought me a big, pink Disney princess book.  It had beautiful pictures of all the princesses.  I still have somewhere on my shelf.

5.    In your opinion, what makes a good fairy tale?
To me, many components make up a good fairy tale.  Mainly the prominent characters.  If they are dislike able, it will the whole story itself, in my opinion, will be dislike able.

6. Who is your favorite fairy tale illustrator?
I have never really been into illustration's in books, so I don't have one.:)

 7.  What is your favorite retelling of a classic fairy tale?

Although the 2010 Alice in Wonderland was a little dark,  I thought this was a pretty well made version of Lewis Carol's classic stories.  It was an older Alice, which I appreciated, and it wasn't as silly as other versions of the books.

Tangled is, of course, my favorite retelling of a classic fairy tale.  The whole plot, characters, and music were just superb.

8. Which fairy tale character is the most like you?  Well, my mom has told me I'm a lot like Disney's Belle, because I love to read just like Belle does.

9. If you could choose to be any fairy tale character, who would you be and why?
That's hard.:(  I would probably want to be Belle for her intelligence, Rapunzel for her spunky personality, and Susan Pevensie for her archery skills.:)

 10. If you could have one wish, what would it be?
a. that a fairy godmother would come along, give you a dazzling outfit and shoes, and whisk you away to a royal ball.

b. that you could fly
c. that you would discover an enchanted world outside of our own
d. that you would be able to go on a grand adventure

Definitely C.  I've always wanted to go to Narnia.:)

11. If you could find out anything about your favorite fairy tale character outside of the pages of his/her story, what would you want to know?

I would love to know what happened to the Lost Boys when they decided to live with Wendy, Michael, and John in Peter Pan.  I wonder what they grew up to be like.

And in Disney's Tangled, it would interesting to see if Rapunzel and Eugene became king and queen of her country.

BONUS QUESTION:
12. Share a picture of one of your dolls dressed as a fairy tale character. :)

When I was Alice two years ago for Halloween, my mom made my doll a matching costume.  This is Natalie in the picture at a beautiful place near where I live.

Hope you all enjoyed!:)

Queen of the World

"Sunday afternoon.  The perfect day to go outside," Natalie sighed to herself happily as she explored her yard.  Natalie scanned the front yard, looking for somethings fun to do. The grass seemed to call her name.  It's bright green blades swayed lazily in the breeze.  Then it her!   She decided to make grass angels!  After a few minutes, it became old.  Suddenly Natalie knew what she had been wanting to do all along:
to climb the large oak tree!!  She skipped excitedly over to the tree and began to attempt climb.  Natalie could not do it!  She tried with all her might, but it felt useless.  A look of determination came over her face.  "I will do this!" she confidently told herself.  Natalie started again.  This time she was able to make it up!
As the sun beams filtered through the tree branches and danced on her face, Natalie stood straight with pride.  "If you believe in yourself, you can do almost anything," she said to herself, and with the utmost happiness yelled, "I'm queen of the world!!!"

Entering Wonderland Photo Shoot

Hello, everyone!  I hope you are all having a wonderful Easter break.  Tuesday, my mom and I went to a graveyard.  Now don't think "Ooh, graveyard!"  It's not like that at all.  It's this gorgeous graveyard with all different unique and pretty  flowers.  Every spring, my mom and I go and take pictures.  Unfortunately, by the time we got there this year, all the flowers had already bloomed and wilted.  It wasn't as pretty as I had hoped it would be, but we took alot of great pictures with green trees and leaves in them!  Enjoy!
It was quite the Alice in Wonderlandish place, so I had to take my mom's doll, Kailey, dressed as Alice.  This graveyard reminded me of the scene in the 2010 Alice in Wonderland when Alice is following the white rabbit.

My favorite picture is the one above.  I loved how bright this flower is!
I will be hosting a giveaway soon.  I have a great prize to giveaway!:D

My Doll's Halloween Costume!

Well, here's her costume!  She is Alice from Alice in Wonderland.  I was Alice last year, so my mom made matching costumes for me and my doll!  It's so detailed.  The picture doesn't even show the detail of it.  It has all this beautiful black trim on the apron, collar, and on the sash(which is not seen on this picture).  The blue is amazingly so bright and vivid. It looks like the sky on a perfectly clear fall day. More posting soon!:D
