Never Grow Up Doll Guide Fairy Tale Blog Party!:)

So on Never Grow Up Doll Guide: A Mom's Guide to Doll's and More Beast'sbelle has this awesome fairy tale blog party!:)  She listed eleven questions, and here are my answers.

1.  What is your favorite fairy tale and why?  My favorite fairy tale would have to be The Chronicles of Narnia.  Why?  Because, C. S. Lewis created such an incredible world.  He painted wonderful stories with Jesus entwined into them all, which not many authors can do as well.  I fell in love with the Pevensies in the books and in the movies.  Each had a different personality and shone throughout every book they were in.

2.  List your 4 favorite fairy tale heroes or heroines and why you like them.

Definitely Peter Pevensie.  I love his devotion towards his siblings.  He always made sure they were all taken care of.  He always was willing to fight for Narnia and Aslan no matter what happened.
Ah, Belle.  The older I have become, I found myself liking Belle much more than most of the other Disney princesses.  Her selfless attitude and her love of reading are the two qualities of her I greatly admire.

Samwise Gamgee is the best, by far, character in The Lord of the Rings!:)  He was always going to be by Frodo's side till the end of their journey or until death.  Frodo lost hope in the chances of them to make it to Mordor, but Sam didn't.  He knew that Frodo could destroy the ring and encouraged him the whole way.  Sam gave up food, water, and would have given his life for Frodo, because he loved his friend and understood the importance of their journey.  He knew "That there's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for."

And who can forget Rapunzel??  I just adore her cutesy spirit!:)

3.  Who in your opinion is the most threatening fairy tale villain?
Hmmm, that's a hard one.  Mother Gothel is probably one.  She was a such an evil woman, there aren't enough words to describe her evilness.

   4. If applicable, share something about a favorite fairy tale book you had as a child. What made it so special?
When my dad came back from a Pastor's conferrence when I was quite little, he brought me a big, pink Disney princess book.  It had beautiful pictures of all the princesses.  I still have somewhere on my shelf.

5.    In your opinion, what makes a good fairy tale?
To me, many components make up a good fairy tale.  Mainly the prominent characters.  If they are dislike able, it will the whole story itself, in my opinion, will be dislike able.

6. Who is your favorite fairy tale illustrator?
I have never really been into illustration's in books, so I don't have one.:)

 7.  What is your favorite retelling of a classic fairy tale?

Although the 2010 Alice in Wonderland was a little dark,  I thought this was a pretty well made version of Lewis Carol's classic stories.  It was an older Alice, which I appreciated, and it wasn't as silly as other versions of the books.

Tangled is, of course, my favorite retelling of a classic fairy tale.  The whole plot, characters, and music were just superb.

8. Which fairy tale character is the most like you?  Well, my mom has told me I'm a lot like Disney's Belle, because I love to read just like Belle does.

9. If you could choose to be any fairy tale character, who would you be and why?
That's hard.:(  I would probably want to be Belle for her intelligence, Rapunzel for her spunky personality, and Susan Pevensie for her archery skills.:)

 10. If you could have one wish, what would it be?
a. that a fairy godmother would come along, give you a dazzling outfit and shoes, and whisk you away to a royal ball.

b. that you could fly
c. that you would discover an enchanted world outside of our own
d. that you would be able to go on a grand adventure

Definitely C.  I've always wanted to go to Narnia.:)

11. If you could find out anything about your favorite fairy tale character outside of the pages of his/her story, what would you want to know?

I would love to know what happened to the Lost Boys when they decided to live with Wendy, Michael, and John in Peter Pan.  I wonder what they grew up to be like.

And in Disney's Tangled, it would interesting to see if Rapunzel and Eugene became king and queen of her country.

BONUS QUESTION:
12. Share a picture of one of your dolls dressed as a fairy tale character. :)

When I was Alice two years ago for Halloween, my mom made my doll a matching costume.  This is Natalie in the picture at a beautiful place near where I live.

Hope you all enjoyed!:)

Never Grow Up Doll Guide's Disney Tag!

This Disney tag just seemed to much fun not to do!  So here goes.  My ten Disney characters are:

1.  Zurg

2.  Aladdin

3.  Sully(from Monsters Inc.)

4.  Mickey Mouse

5.  Maximus(from Tangled)

6.  Belle

7.  Genie

8.  Remy

9.  Prince Dastan(from Prince of Persia)

10.  Rapunzel

1. If you had Zurg and Genie over for dinner, what would you serve them and how would you entertain them?

Hmmmm, something big and extravagant like crown roast and creme brulee, but I would make sure I have some of it was plastic since Zurg is a toy.  I probably would sing them some sort of song, but I would make sure it's not the happiest song, because Zurg most likely wouldn't enjoy it.

2. Belle and Remy are going to sing a duet. What is the title of the song they will sing? (It can be an actual song or one you make up)

Be Our Guest would totally fit Belle and Remy.  It's about food, and it's in Beauty and the Beast.

3. Aladdin, Mickey Mouse, and Prince Dastan are on a quest. What is the purpose of their quest, and who is the leader?

They would be trying to get the dagger that turns back time from Jafar, so they could get it Disney World in time for the big Mickey Mouse parade.  Prince Dastan would totally be the leader.  He has the most experience out of the three of them.

4. Who would make a better librarian, Sully or Rapunzel?

Definately Rapunzel.  She would be the happiest librarian ever!! I would go to her library all the time!:D

5. It's the final showdown of a Disney film. Genie has to defeat Mickey Mouse. How will he/she do it?

Since he's Genie, he would create a large whirl pool and send a  tornado to swallow Mickey Mouse up in it.

6. Belle is holding a job interview. The interviewees are Prince Dastan, Sully, and Remy. What is the job they are interviewing for, and who will get the position?

They would be interviewed for a job as a lawyer.  I think Sully would have to get this job.  He just seems like he would be pretty smart at it.

7. In a sword fight between Zurg and Maximus, who would win?

Maximus, of course!  He's got some pretty mad skills with the frying pan, so why couldn't he beat Zurg with a sword?

8. In a musical number, what sort of dance would Rapunzel perform while singing?

I would think ballet with a hint of modern. Some her songs are upbeat while others are slow.  She just seems like her personality would fit those two combined.

9. Who would make a better babysitter, Maximus or Aladdin?

I would say Maximus.  He cares so much about Rapunzel, Flynn, and Pascal that he seems he would be very caring and protective of any child he was babysitting.

10. Once upon a time, in a faraway land, Prince Dastan dreamed of a different life than the one he had.  Meanwhile, in another part of the land, Genie and Maximus were imprisoned and trying to escape.  They were in the clutches of the sinister Aladdin, who refused to show any mercy.

One day, Mickey Mouse passed by the dungeon where Genie and Maximus were held captive and heard their cries. Moved with compassion, he vowed to not rest until he had done everything in his power to rescue them. With that, Mickey Mouse rushed off to get help.

The first people Mickey Mouse came across were Zurg, Belle, and Rapunzel, who were involved in a street faire. Mickey Mouse told the others of the plight of Genie and Maximus, and they were determined to help! They decided to go to the nearest village to get the supplies they would need for such a rescue.

The nearest village was, of course, the village where Prince Dastan lived. When he saw the others so hard at work, Prince Dastan asked what they were doing and was told of their quest. Instantly, Prince Dastan broke into a spontaneous song, detailing that this was what he had been waiting for all of this time. Then Prince Dastan joined in their rescue effort.

On their way back to the dungeon, they were confronted by Remy, who had been hired by the villainous Aladdin to stop them. Just when they thought all was lost, Sully appeared on the horizon wielding a large sword.  He ran up to where they others where and faced Remy with rage.

"How dare you kidnap Genie and Maximus?? They have done nothing!" Sully almost yelled.

Remy cowered back, not expecting this unusual fellow.  "They have disrespected my lord Aladdin, " he yelled back as he drew his sword and charged toward the small group.

Following his actions , Sully ran at Remy.  They both went into this terrible duel, while the others stared on with fear and fascination.  Finally Sully defeated Remy, and, with Prince Dastan, Zurg, Belle, Rapenzul, Mickey Mouse, he ran into the dark dungeon that was teeming over them.

They all hurried up the long stairs in the dungeon to where Genie and Maximus were held captive.  When they arrived at Genie's and Maximus' cell, Aladdin was waiting for them.   Prince Dastan, mustering up his courage, grabbed Sully's sword and fought with Aladdin.  After a few minutes of sword fighting Prince Dastan tripped Aladdin and hurled a stone at him, knocking him out cold.

Belle and Rapenzul then were able to set Maximus and Genie free.  Afterwards, Prince Dastan was crowned king by Mickey Mouse and ruled the Magic Kingdom better than anyone who had before him.

Please do this tag from Never Grow Up Doll Guide! It was so much fun!:D
